Victoria's arts sector.

In 1973 the Ministry for the Arts joined forces with Melbourne City Council to present Entertainment in the Parks, including twice-weekly lunchtime shows in the Treasury and Flagstaff Gardens, and Sunday events in the Fitzroy Gardens. An estimated two million people enjoyed an array of performances in the first two years, ranging from Shakespeare and chamber music to jazz, puppets and vaudeville.
